Ajax Amsterdam has only started better one time in the last ten years in the Dutch league. With coach Henk ten Cate Ajax has won nine of the first ten games. Ajax only lost against Roda JC. Only during the 1997/98 season did Ajax start better. With then coach Morten Olsen Ajax managed to grab 30 points from 10 games; Ajax actually won the first eleven matches during that season. In the last ten seasons Ajax was in first place after ten games; this ended up in winning three championship.
Only PSV Eindhoven did better than the current Ajax formation in the last ten years. During the 1999/2000 season PSV grabbed 28 points from ten games with coach Erik Gerets
